I would say do a quick runthrough of DWG2, just so you can appreciate all the upgrades from the first one to the second one, because that will allow you to also appreciate the differences betwee then second and third.Īs stated, it is annying to 100%. I got two of my friends into Gundam with DW Gundam 2, and they both went back and bought the first one to play, and now they have this one. In all fairness, people can play whatever they want. I don't expect non Hokuto fans to play Fist of the North Star, either. Also, I think if you're not a fan you shouldn't play these games anyways. The first DW Gundam game did the same thing as this one with an original plot, and I don't see you complaing about that. It aint bad as such but it means any "history" battles you play are flat and uninspired compared to what they were before and seeing Kamille all emotional for example of Fours death which you dont see or even have it explained who the hell they both are means its not a friendly starting point for non-gundam fans to start on. the story is the only drawback because its all made up Warriors Orochi style to mix and match all the pilots into one plotline. For everything else i found 3 the best of the series. If you care for the actual Gundam plotlines then i would go to 2. I could go on and on about this game, but I'll stop here. Likewise, if you're in a bind this system is awesome for escaping. Just like Dynasty Warriors 7 and to a lesser extent Fist of the North Star, they've tossed in ways to cancel combos to make them more deadly, essentially opening up the combo system to allow more freedom and experimenting. For the Dynasty Warriors series it's really a technical marvel and it doesn't hurt that it's a hell of a lot of fun to play as well. 
It's a little bit too easy, but aside from that it's leaps and bounds better than their usual builds, it actually has polish.Įnemies don't disappear and the game runs damn near flawlessly at 60 FPS, to be honest, I've played over 60 hours and haven't noticed a single FPS drop. This isn't just the better of the DW: Gundam series, but, and I can't believe I'm about to say this considering I'm a Musou fan only, not a Gundam fan, not even a little, but this is the best Dynasty Warriors game yet.
